  1. Tip of the day - Consume lots of high-fiber foods: these are foods like fruit, vegetables, beans and whole grains. These foods are what many refer to as the “good” carbohydrates. They are considered to be very good for you; they are filling, and very low in calories. By eating plenty of these foods you will get the 20-30g of dietary fiber you need everyday in a healthy way. This dietary fiber slows the absorption of carbohydrates within the body so it’s overall effect on insulin and blood sugar is kept to a minimum. In addition these foods are high in needed vitamins, minerals, and phytochemicals, which are plant chemicals and they are needed for good health.
